Hello and welcome to the Vineyard at Mulberry Hall. Mulberry Hall is a small piece of land that resides in Southern Maryland along the shores of the historic St. Mary's River. Dating back to the mid-19th century, Mulberry Hall has since been subdivided somewhat but we've carried along the name as the previous owner did when we purchased the land in the spring of 2003. Our vineyard began in earnest in the spring of 2004 with a small planting of a variety of French/American Hybrid vines. We've learned a lot and what exists today is a vineyard that is triple in size and contains the most demanded varieties for wine in the state and the most popular varieties to grow successfully in this area.
We currently are growing seedless Concord, French/American hybrid vine Vidal Blanc, and French vinifera Merlot, Chardonnay and Cabernet Franc. We produced our first wine from the vineyard of Vidal Blanc in the Fall of 2006 and bottled it August 7th, 2007.
We also have a small nursery in a garden plot to produce new vines from pruned cuttings we take from the Vineyard. In 2005 we began selling our small lot of excess vines.
