Restoring our 1995 SeaRay 175

Below are photos showing the restoring of our "new" and first boat, a 1995 SeaRay 175 bowrider I/O with a 3.0l 4-cylinder 135HP I/O. Is restoring too strong of a word? Maybe, but it's eleven years old and we gave it a thorough looking over and maintenance before putting it in the water. When it's finished, it should look brand new!

Some of the things we have done since we purchased it the end of June, 2006:

  • Thorough interior cleaning
  • Installed new navy blue carpet
  • New SeaRay chrome emblems
  • Color restored gray rubrail
  • New dark blue rubrail insert (Thanks to Rubrails.com!)
  • New dark blue pinstriping
  • Cleaned bilge area under engine
  • Opened and cleaned ski locker area
  • New bilge pump and automatic switch
  • New bilge blower
  • New dual battery switch and new 2nd battery
  • Installed Fuel filter/Water seperator
  • New compass
  • New state registration numbers
  • New marine stereo, CD/MP3 player
  • Replaced original pair of stereo speakers, installed second pair
  • Installed 12 volt cigarette power receptacle
  • Replaced dash gauge brackets that were broken.
  • New hour meter
  • Waxed and buffed interior and exterior
  • New bimini top
  • New 'up' trim solenoid on trim pump
  • New trailer lighting kit
  • Trailer jack
  • New trailer chains
  • New trailer bunk brackets, bunks, carpet and rubber
  • Re-packed trailer wheel hubs, installed Bearing Buddies
  • New engine oil/filter, spark plugs, wires
  • Changed sterndrive oil, lubricated all components
  • All new sterndrive sacrificial anodes
  • New propeller
  • We have new carpet ready and waiting to be installed, but we want to use the boat for a few weeks before taking on that project. As you can see, we have a navy blue bimini top with new navy registration letters. We are changing the color from the factory teal to the factory navy option and have the carpet in navy, and new navy pinstriping going on soon. Check out the new Navy rubrail. It should look great!
