Magyar Woodworking
   - Adirondack Chairs

My first project. I had had these plans for several months in a box sitting in our then apartment. We had just bought a log home and were waiting to move in, and we figured this would be great for the porch. I didn't have hardly a tool at all, but I couldn't wait to make these.

It was a few months after I moved in that I bought my first real woodworking power tool...a benchtop tablesaw. The main purpose was to make these chairs and matching table and footstool. The house had a full basement, so I set up shop in one half with a couple of small workbenches and a spot to hang my tools and a shelf. It got quite dusty down there. Unfortunately, I didn't take many photos other than the pieces already cut, and then the final product, just taken outside.

It was an interesting project. I had the small tablesaw, an old electric drill and a garage sale bought jig saw; that was it. Bought my first two clamps to hold the front legs on as I put them together. My wife helped me for most of this project. The chairs our made out of standard white pine. It made for a great first project that after this time now, still looks and is great. A primer coat and a couple coats of hunter green latex paint and there you have it.
